2008 Finalist Disqualified

EASTON, MD. – Officials of the 3rd International Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition today announced with regret that the Credo Quartet which had won two awards at the final performances on March 29 has been disqualified due to their failure to comply with the rules of the Competition.  The Quartet has thereby forfeited all of its awards and its status as a Medalist of the Competition has been revoked.

The concert performance awards have been granted to the Silver Medalist, the Attacca Quartet of New York, who, in addition to its triumph at the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition, was winner of the Grand Prize at the 2006 Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition.  Attacca was invited to participate in the Pacific Music Festival’s 2006 String Quartet Course in Sapporo, Japan, and has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, and at numerous prestigious venues in New York.
